Lauren Tuite - Founder

I became fascinated by Dublin’s empty and derelict buildings after returning to Ireland in 2015. It became the focus of my studies at NUI Galway and the motivation to start D8 Development as dozens of Dublin’s historic buildings were bulldozed for hotels and offices. The best way to save our architectural heritage is to use these buildings in ways that connect the community with their beauty and significance.

Ian Tracy - Architecture

Ian is the principal at MMX Architects and a senior lecturer in Dublin Institute of Design. Sustainable mobility is a priority for Ian; he visits clients on his e-bike and has collaborated with Lauren previously on local plans for Bus Connects.

Maeve Tracy - Biodiversity

Maeve studied architecture at DIT and now works in project management at a tech firm. Her passion for gardening led to the creation of Dig for Victory, a popular Grow Your Own club in Inchicore. Empty sites are often rich in biodiversity and wildlife and with Maeve’s input we can develop properties while respecting nature and making its beauty core to the design.
